Amir sayed shines for Ahura Racing; Ruhaan wins Rookie race
Coimbatore, 20 Nov 2021: Amir Sayed outclassed a classy field of stars to finish on top of the podium for his new team, Ahura Racing, on the opening day of Round 2 of the 24th JK Tyre FMSCI National Racing Championship at the Kari Motor Speedway in Chettipalayam, near here, on Saturday.
But it was Ruhaan Alva, who kept the flag flying for MSport, in the Rookie section winning over another graduate from karting and teammate Jaden R Pariat from Guwahati. The Bengaluru racer is the reigning Senior National karting champion. Aditya Parusuram of Hasten Performance completed the podium
In the Formula LGB, Amir Sayed won by less than half a second but he had the pleasure of beating Tijil Rao and experienced Sandeep Kumar, both from Dark Don Racing. All three finished within 0.600th of a second.
It wasn’t easy for the youngster from Kottayam. He had to battle hard right through before stamping his class. Starting fourth on the grid, he pulled off to a great start. Pole sitter Arya Singh was right up there and so was Sandeep Kumar and Tijil Rao (all from Dark Don). The safety car, which came out thrice, further added to his pressure but he withstood it all to take the checkered flag ahead of Tijil and Sandeep.
Anish Damodar Shetty of Hubbali, was in his elements once again, winning the first race of the JK Tyre Continental GT Cup Round 2, too, beating talented Thrissur youngsters Allwin Xavier and Anfal Akdar. Anish dominated the Round 1 and is leading he table.
