Chennai, 1 July 2008: The FMSCI is pleased to announce that the Federation Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) at its World Motor Sports Council meeting on 25th June 2008 granted  the international sporting power to the FMSCI effective from 1st July 2008.  By virtue of this mandate the FMSCI which is India's National Sports Federation now holds  the responsibility to regulate and govern 2, 3 and 4 wheeler motorsport in India.Effective today the FMSCI  will be issuing competition licenses and permits to all competitors , entrants and event organisers.The FMSCI is now the ASN of the FIA in India and the FMN of the Federation Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM)  and also a member of the Indian Olympic Association.
