Ceat-Mahindra Monsoon Challenge flagged off
Bangalore, 18 July 2014: The 2014 edition of the Ceat-Mahindra Monsoon Challenge 2014 attracted 24 cars which were flagged off here on Friday evening at the Orion Mall.
These vehicles will manoeuvre the challenging route of over 700 km in 2 days. Held under the Mahindra Adventure umbrella, it is a part of the Challenges series of motorsport events that was launched four years ago. A unique concept, as the name suggests, TSD rallies are not only about speed but also about calculated precision of time and distance. The driver and the navigator are expected to keep a track of time in tandem with the distance covered.
With a total prize money of Rs 3.5 lakh on offer, the Monsoon Challenge sports the tag of being one of India’s richest motorsport events. The event has also been duly approved by the Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India (FMSCI) and is held especially for Mahindra vehicle owners.
The cars were flagged off by the Minister of State for Youth Services and Fisheries Abhay Chandra Jain. Bijoy Kumar (Senior Manager, Mahindra Adventure Initiatives), Gaurav Kaura (Zonal Business Manager, South, Ceat Tyres), Sunil Munshi (GM, Orion Mall) and Vishal Mirchandani (CEO, Commercial and Retail, Brigade Group) were also present.
